Install and Activate Yoast SEO.
Installing and activating the Yoast SEO plugin on your WordPress site is the first step.
To do this, log in to your WordPress dashboard, navigate to “Plugins” in the left-hand menu, click on “Add New,” and search for “Yoast SEO.” Once you find it, click “Install Now” and then activate the plugin.
Optimising Your Content
With Yoast SEO installed, you can now optimise your pages and posts for SEO.
Open a post or a page you’ll notice a meta box below your content editor when creating or editing a post or page.
This meta box provides real-time analysis and suggestions to enhance your content’s SEO. Pay attention to the readability analysis, focus keyword, and snippet preview to ensure your content is optimized for search engines.
The most important setting is for you to add the meta description for your page or post. Ensure to add a meta description for all your posts and pages on the site.
Search Appearance Configuration
One of Yoast SEO’s powerful features is the ability to determine which content appears in search results. With Yoast, you can decide what bits of content get indexed, and only these will appear in search engine results pages.
To access this feature, go to Yoast SEO – Settings – Content Types. You will find settings for content types such as posts, pages, and other custom pots here.
If you are using Kadence Elements and other content types such as Galleries, you need to disable these from appearing in search engine results.
Click on the content type settings for that given type of content and disable the search appearance option, as shown below.
When search engines index your site, content types such as Elements and Galleries whose visibility has been turned off will not be indexed, leaving only meaningful content to be indexed.
Yoast SEO Breadcrumb Settings
Breadcrumbs are navigational aids that display a hierarchical trail of clickable links. Breadcrumbs help users understand their current website location and facilitate easy navigation. They display a series of links representing the path from the homepage to the current page.
To make changes to your site breadcrumbs using Yoast SEO, you need first to configure the Kadence theme to use Yoast’s Breadcrumb engine.
Open the Kadence Theme Customiser settings. Go to General – Breadcrumbs and set the Breadcrumb Engine to Yoast.
After setting the Yoast breadcrumb, you can now adjust the breadcrumb settings for specific content types inside Yoast settings.

Other Yoast Configurations
You can perform further Yoast SEO configurations on your site with this tool, such as;
Creating a Sitemap
A sitemap is a file that lists all of the pages on your website. It helps search engines find and index your pages more quickly and easily.
When a search engine crawls your website, it will look for your sitemap. If it finds your sitemap, it will use the information in the sitemap to crawl your website more efficiently.
Yoast SEO automatically generates an XML sitemap for your website, making it easier for search engines to crawl and index your pages.
To find your sitemap, navigate to “Yoast SEO – Settings – Site Features.” Scroll to the bottom of the page to ensure the sitemap feature is turned on.
You can finish off the Yoast set-up by going through its first-time configuration.
Go to Yoast SEO – General and switch to the First-time configuration tab to access this.
Here, you can work on the SEO data optimisation for your site and its representation, add its social profiles and set personal references.
By following these steps, you’ll be well on your way to creating a search engine-friendly website that attracts more organic traffic and enhances your online presence.
Regularly update and optimize your content using Yoast SEO’s insights to stay ahead in the ever-evolving landscape of search engine optimization.
